The Chipopotopaulas
Another week, another Dat Dog special! We must say, we’re sad to say goodbye again to the holiday dog but not THAT sad because this week, our dog special is the Chipopotopaulas!
What is a Chipopotopaulas you ask? Well it’s a grilled sausage, topped with chipotle, cheddar cheese, sour cream, guac, pico de gallo and yellow mustard. As always, this is all served up in one of our steamed and toasted sour dough buns.
Can’t decide what t wash this down with? Why not try our cocktail of the week too! This week we’re serving up the Salty Chihuahua which combines Tequila, ruby red grapefruit juice, a salted rim and garnished with lime.

Trivia: Update
Happy Holidays everyone!
For those of you that may not already know, we will be cancelling the Trivia at both Freret St and Magazine St over the festive season. Trivia will resume on Tuesday 7 January and Wednesday 8 January.
May we take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Christmas. Enjoy the festivities and we hope to see you at some point soon!

Christmas came early for us this year, we’ve just received our Zagat rating for 2014 and scored a fantastic 25 out of 30. We’re all dead happy with this and just want to thank all of you loyal lot for keeping us going!

So boys and girls, have you been naughty or nice this year?
The reason we ask is because we heard a sneaky little rumour that a certain Mr Claus might be paying us a little visit on 21st and 22nd December (5-7pm).
Funny Bones
Now, we all love a bit of comedy, right?
Well, get yourselves down to Dat Dog on Magazine St this Saturday 14th December (11am-2pm) for some comedy improv with a difference. Not only will Funny Bones set out to make you laugh, they are also (and more importantly) a non profit organisation dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles. Their mission is to share the gifts and benefits of laughter with sick children and their families in hospitals across New Orleans and Chicago.
There are no tickets being sold for this event but we will be donating a dollar from each of our dog specials of the day ordered to Funny Bones which will go towards supporting interactive, improvised comedy shows in hospitals for sick children.

For all you Trivia night lovers at Freret St (or anyone that prefers the great outdoors in the evening), you can now stay nice and toasty while sitting out front!

Pop-Up Brunch Alert!!
Hi Dat Dog fans!
So they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, brunch kinda fits into that category and boy have we a got a brunch in store for you!
Join us on Saturday 14th December 10am-1pm for a brunch that is sure to rock your world! My House NOLA and Laura Sugerman of Sugerman’s Bagels will be joining us at Freret St. from 10am-1pm to offer up some tasty brunch treats.
The Menu (subject to change):
Bagel plate with house-cured citrus gravlax and lemon-caper cream cheese
Meyer lemon ricotta pancakes
Croissants with house cured bacon and farm egg
To enjoy your brunch to the max, make sure you have a Dogs Days Remedy… a delicious classic New Orleans style Bloody Mary with house specialty bacon-infused Cathead vodka, only $8.50. There will also be traditional bubbly Mimosas, hot Irish Coffee, and a full bar! But remember people, come prepared…it’s CASH ONLY.

Aye Aye Sailor!
It’s that wonderful time of year again. The time when everyone seems to be in a good mood and feeling festive.
Here at Dat Dog we’re feeling pretty festive too. So come and join us tomorrow evening (3rd December) and get into the spirit with our Sailor Jerry tasting evening.
Our friends from Sailor Jerry will be joining us to spoil you rotten. Starting from 7pm, there will be lots of sampling, some free swag and you’ll even get a masterclass in learning all about their products. We’ve also created a special Hot Apple Cider cocktail for the night which, believe us when we say, is a must try!
