Well, get yourselves down to Dat Dog on Magazine St this Saturday 14th December (11am-2pm) for some comedy improv with a difference. Not only will Funny Bones set out to make you laugh, they are also (and more importantly) a non profit organisation dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles. Their mission is to share the gifts and benefits of laughter with sick children and their families in hospitals across New Orleans and Chicago.
There are no tickets being sold for this event but we will be donating a dollar from each of our dog specials of the day ordered to Funny Bones which will go towards supporting interactive, improvised comedy shows in hospitals for sick children.

It’s that wonderful time of year again. The time when everyone seems to be in a good mood and feeling festive.
Here at Dat Dog we’re feeling pretty festive too. So come and join us tomorrow evening (3rd December) and get into the spirit with our Sailor Jerry tasting evening.
Our friends from Sailor Jerry will be joining us to spoil you rotten. Starting from 7pm, there will be lots of sampling, some free swag and you’ll even get a masterclass in learning all about their products. We’ve also created a special Hot Apple Cider cocktail for the night which, believe us when we say, is a must try!
Have you been trying to conjure up the perfect Christmas cocktail that’s a little bit different? Well come and ask Hayley from Sailor Jerry for her expert recommendations!
Just look at this adorable little face. This is Kipper. Kipper is a local seeing eye dog and a part of TUSTEP (Tulane University Seeing-Eye Dog Training and Education Program).
Kipper will be joining us at Dat Dog on Freret today (Sunday 17th November) to raise awareness and much needed funds for TUSTEP to help with the costs of raising service dogs. Join us from 13:00 – 18:00 to meet Kipper, find out about TUSTEP and how you can help and whilst you’re here try one of our special Kipper Dog’s! What’s a Kipper dog you ask? It’s one of our juicy Guinness sausages topped with cheddar cheese, diced onions, pico de gallo and guacamole. Of course, a portion will be donated to TUSTEP.
Come support this incredibly important cause with us!
Stuck for something to do this weekend? Well fear not, we have the answer for you right here!
Tomorrow (Saturday, November 16), Gambit Weekly will hold their first FestivALES event. You’ll get to sample up to 30 seasonal and craft beers, all provided by Southern Eagle and Crescent Crown and we’re lucky enough to be one of the 6 venues taking part! Tickets are $30 per person which is pretty good in our eyes! FestivALES will take place from 12pm- 6pm along Freret St. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting their website or by calling 504.483.3152
We will also be running the Guinness dog as our special of the day; a Guinness Sausage with shredded cheddar cheese, our famous house-made andouille sauce, fresh onions, bacon and yellow mustard.
Have you been in to see us this week yet? If not, then hopefully this guy will bring you in to say hi! This week’s special here to rock your world is the Southwestern Kielbasa. One of our juicy kielbasa sausages topped with guac, tomatoes, pickled onion (you gotta try these!!!), and chipotle mayo on one of our famous steamed and toasted sour dough buns.
Pair this with our cocktail special of the week; the Dog’s Day Remedy and that’s sure to put a smile on your face.
